En la segunda guerra mundial se cometieron muchos crímenes de guerra, no solamente con prisioneros de guerra sino también con civiles inocentes.
Ishii y sus hombres, nunca pagaron por sus crímenes de guerra, negociando su indulto ante el general Mac Arthur, a cambio de sus informes y estudios obtenidos en estos seudo experimentos.

La paranoia desatada por Adolfo Hitler y su teoría sobre la superioridad aria explicada en “Mein Kampf (en español “Mi Lucha”) y que tuvo “algunos” adeptos entre la población alemana, no fue el único caso de las atrocidades de guerra cometidas en este periodo, sino también se destaca el de una facción del Ejército Imperial Japonés, el Kempeitai y su programa denominado Escuadrón 731.
El Escuadrón 731 fue creado en 1941 y dirigida por Shiro Ishii. Tenía como antecedente a la unidad denominada "Prevención Epidémica y Sección de purificación de Agua del Ejército de Kuantung de 1936.
La otra unidad era la de Yujiro Wakamatsu, denominada “Sección de Prevención de la Enfermedad Veterinaria del Ejército de Kuantung; posteriormente, Escuadrón 100.
 | Ambas unidades fueron instaladas en Manchukuo (nombre oficial: Dongbei Pingyuan, provincia anexada a Japón en 1931 por la Guerra Sino Japonesa) y con el consentimiento del emperador Hirohito; quien fue convencido por Ishii para realizar estudios sobre desarrollo de armas químicas para ser utilizados en los campos de batalla; y claro, los nombres originarios de ambas unidades serían simplemente una fachada. |
De ambas unidades, aunque hubo también otras, el que “destaca” por el uso de seres humanos y que ha sido ampliamente registrado, es el de la unidad 731.
Ishii, el “Mengele” japonés, realizó una serie de experimentos con prisioneros de guerra y civiles, ya sean chinos, rusos, etc.
Entre los diversos experimentos que practicaba a los "marutas"(término en japonés que significa “tronco” y con el cual se refería a sus víctimas), se cuentan vivisecciones, inoculaciones con diferentes bacterias y enfermedades a personas sanas, utilización de personas como blancos en campos simulados de ataque, etc.Ya cuando terminó la segunda guerra mundial, Ishii y sus hombres destruyeron todos los documentos, muestras y las propias instalaciones, para eliminar toda evidencia de aquellas atrocidades, en donde murieron entre 3000 a 12 000 personas. |  |

During the Second World War many war crimes were committed, not only to prisoners of war but also to innocent civilians.
The paranoia unleashed by Adolf Hitler and his theory of racial superiority is explained in “Mein Kampf” (in English: “My Struggle”), which had “some” followers among the Germans. This was not the only case of actrocities of war committed during this period, but also a faction of the Imperial Japanese Army, the Kempeitai, and its program called “Unit 731”, which stands out by itself.
The Unit 731 was created in 1941 and led by Shiro Ishii. This unit had as background the unit called “Epidemic Prevention and Water Purification Department of the Kuantung Army" of 1936.
The other unit was led by Yujiro Wakamatsu, called “Department of Veterinary Disease Prevention of the Kuantung Army", later called as Unit 100.
Both units were installed in Manchukuo (official name: Dongbei Pingyuan, province annexed to Japan in 1931 as consequence of the Sino Japanese War) and with consent of the Emperor Hirohito, who was persuaded by Ishii to perform some research about the development of chemical weapons to be used in the battlefields, and of course, the original names of both units were just in disguise.
From these units, although there were others, the Unit 731 stands out because of the use of human beings in the experiments, which has been registered extensively.
Ishii, the Japanese Megele, performed a series of experiments with prisoners of war and civilians, either Chinese, Russians, etc.
Among the several experiments performed on the “maruta” (a Japanese term meaning “log”, as the victims were called); it includes vivisections, inoculations with different bacteria and diseases to healthy people, the use of people as targets in simulated battlefields, etc.
When the WWII was over, Ishii and his men destroyed all the documents, samples and the installations themselves in order to eliminate all evidence of these atrocities, where between 3000 to 12000 people died.
Ishii and his men have never paid by their war crimes, negotiating their pardon to the General MacArthur, in exchange of their reports and researches obtained in these pseudo experiments.
