HIROHITO: ¿EL EMPERADOR IMPOSTOR? / HIROHITO: THE IMPOSTOR EMPEROR?

Surfing in Internet, I found the blog "No- Sword" by Matt Treyvaud. He wrote an interesting, and even odd (especially for the Western world), article about the other Japanese emperors titled "Other Emperors".
We have been used to hear about the emperors Akihito and Hirohito, but sometimes we do not know (much or almost nothing) about who were their ancestors and less, who were the "others", who demanded to be recognized as the rightful heirs of the Chrysanthemum Throne. In view of the absence of historical documentation before the 8th century in Japan, the true existence of the figures, considered as mythical beings and who are the founders of Japan cannot be confirmed. Thus, the current Japanese emperors and their offsprings and ancestors are said to descend from a single line of succession, which dates back from the goddess Amaterasu.

Ya poco después de la segunda guerra mundial, un reportero de la revista Life, Richard Lauterbach, publica un artículo titulado "The True Emperor of Japan?" ("¿El Verdadero Emperador de Japón?") en 1946.
Just after the Second World War, a Life magazine correspondent, Richard Lauterbach, published an article titled "The True Emperor of Japan?" in 1946.

He interviewed Hiromichi Kumazawa, a Japanese shopkeeper (and also, Buddhist priest) born in Nagoya who claimed to be the true emperor and not Hirohito.

Kumazawa claimed to be the 19th direct descendant of Go Kameyama, who was the 99th emperor and the last one of the Southern Court in Japan.
Until 1392, Japan was divided into two courts: the Northern Court "Hokucho" (in Kyoto) and the Southern Court "Nancho" (in Yoshino, Nara), which were in constant war with each other, but it came to an end with the surrender of the Southern Court in that year and Japan merged into one kingdom. The Emperor Go- Komatsu (of the Northern Court) remained in total power of the whole archipielago.
The Southern Court, from where Kumazawa claimed to be one direct descendant, owned the imperial treasures of Japan: a sword, a necklace and a mirror, which belonged to the goddess Amaterasu. However, when it abdicated, it had to hand them over to the Northern Court.
The ownership of these sacred treasures demonstrated, at certain point, the legitimacy of the royal offspring. For this reason, Kumazawa declared to be the rightful descendant of the imperial line of sucession by showing documents assuring that Emperor Hirohito was not a direct descendant, because he came from the Northern Court.
Furthermore, if we see in retrospective and strictly the family tree of Hirohito, both his father and grandfather, the emperors Taisho (Yoshihito) and Meiji (Mutsuhito), were born from a concubine, but not from the "lawful wife", that is, the Empress.
Kumazawa also declared that Emperor Meiji wanted to compensate his father who died in 1915, by offering the title of marquis, but he rejected it.
Apparently, the claim of the Kumazawa family was legitimate for the ruling Imperial family. Kumazawa, born in Nagoya in 1889, before his death in 1966, he filed his claim at General MacArthur and Presidente Truman, who kept rather Hirohito in the "throne".

After his death, the controversy was reavived again in 1972 by one relative of him named Nobuhiko Kumazawa, but unsuccessfully.

After all, apparently this controversy would be about an opportunism which, before the defeat and surrender of Japan in the Second World War, attempted to demand the abdication of Hirohito from the imperial throne. Basically, those "opportunists" did not consider as right neither the Humanity Declaration signed by him (who renounced his divine status but not his divine ascendency- a little contradictory, isn’t it?) nor his radio speech announcing the Japanese defeat to the United States. However, figures of the Emperor and the Imperial Family, as well as the active participation of Japan during the Second World War, are topics trying to go unnoticed and almost they are not mentioned (and if mentioned, they are distorted and focused in a more "indulgent" point of view) in the Japanese school curricula, but even so, they still provoke some interest in the Western world.

During the Second World War many war crimes were committed, not only to prisoners of war but also to innocent civilians.
The paranoia unleashed by Adolf Hitler and his theory of racial superiority is explained in “Mein Kampf” (in English: “My Struggle”), which had “some” followers among the Germans. This was not the only case of actrocities of war committed during this period, but also a faction of the Imperial Japanese Army, the Kempeitai, and its program called “Unit 731”, which stands out by itself.
The Unit 731 was created in 1941 and led by Shiro Ishii. This unit had as background the unit called “Epidemic Prevention and Water Purification Department of the Kuantung Army" of 1936.
The other unit was led by Yujiro Wakamatsu, called “Department of Veterinary Disease Prevention of the Kuantung Army", later called as Unit 100.
Both units were installed in Manchukuo (official name: Dongbei Pingyuan, province annexed to Japan in 1931 as consequence of the Sino Japanese War) and with consent of the Emperor Hirohito, who was persuaded by Ishii to perform some research about the development of chemical weapons to be used in the battlefields, and of course, the original names of both units were just in disguise.
From these units, although there were others, the Unit 731 stands out because of the use of human beings in the experiments, which has been registered extensively.
Ishii, the Japanese Megele, performed a series of experiments with prisoners of war and civilians, either Chinese, Russians, etc.
Among the several experiments performed on the “maruta” (a Japanese term meaning “log”, as the victims were called); it includes vivisections, inoculations with different bacteria and diseases to healthy people, the use of people as targets in simulated battlefields, etc.
When the WWII was over, Ishii and his men destroyed all the documents, samples and the installations themselves in order to eliminate all evidence of these atrocities, where between 3000 to 12000 people died.
Ishii and his men have never paid by their war crimes, negotiating their pardon to the General MacArthur, in exchange of their reports and researches obtained in these pseudo experiments.
